NaPowriMo Day 8
It's the translucent blue skies
That summon me from the cavens of a cool house
The gentleness of a breeze as the sun warms the skin
The feel of no layers
Spring,
Spring has come!
I can now shout gleefully
Until the next snowfall comes

NaPoWriMo Day Seven
I lose the simplest of thoughts
The easiest of items
The string of words
A command, said merely two minutes ago
I remember
The look upon your face
The simplest of moves
A spell cast upon me
Observant, unobservant
Dreamer, thinker
I am the clever liar
NaPoWriMo Day Six
The fresh, new red notebook
The one to my side
Enscribed on it's pages
The corners of my head and my thoughts
My handwriting
Smudged and soft
A pencil worn to the nub
I stare at it
Before shoving it deep into my bag
NaPoWriMo Day Five
I squeeze your hand
Just to know
That I'm still alive
And I'm not dreaming
I had fallen
In my dream's eye
I pinched and bit my skin
The hands that I don't care for
No more
Bitten fingernails, down to the stub
A swelling of a mark
The relief is my addiction

NaPoWriMo Day Five
The alto, wailing and drowning out all sounds
The beat loud and modern
A phone to my right
Waiting for the buzzer to ring
Awaiting for a text at eight
A message
To summon me from my cage

NaPoWriMo Day Four
The swarm and tangle of blankets
Leaves swirling inside a teapot
As I pour a small stream of the drink
Into a mug, heating the glass
Cupping my hands around the mug
staring the stumps of nails on my fingertips
I flip the book upside down
Pausing my mental adventure
To sip and let the tea cool and soothe me
The sun shines from behind a cloud
And the clock ticks on

NaPoWriMo Day Three
That condescending look you give
The slight scoff and tiny smile
At the most important constructions
Of words and prose
That I can create
I slink away
Into my cave
Hiding away
