NaPoWriMo Day Two

Damp skin, and water darkened hair
A fresh, steamy shower
My feet rub against the towel with each step
As I fall to my knees and hands to rummage through
A pile of my clothes
The scent of artificial soaps wafts through the air
Knees, scarred from childhood bike accidents
Leaning against the rim of the tub
Bending over to use my hand to coax the water
Out from the spout
Looking back and each fold of skin
Each muscle and dip in my body
The pale way of my stomach
Tan lines from the summer
Each freckle, mole and mark
I enjoy the difference
The way things aren’t so plain and uniform
The way things are supposed to be
